Benning Technology Park (BTP) will provide the ultimate strategic location for office, research and development, education, light industrial, hospitality and retail uses. The project will also be an excellent location for recruiting defense-related businesses and civilian contractors doing business with Fort Benning, Georgia, and could employ as many as 1,800 workers at build-out. The development will be located at the northeast quadrant of Victory Drive (GA 520/US 27/US 280) and Interstate 185 on the north side of Fort Benning and is within a ten mile radius of all major Army headquarters. The site is comprised of 173 acres and can support the development of nearly 1.5 million square feet of building area.

Access to the Park will be provided by public roadway via an interchange that is currently under construction with completion expected in 2018.

In May 2016, the City of Columbus and Muscogee County School Board approved the Tax Allocation District (TAD) enhancing the ability to provide class leading infrastructure at a lower cost.

BTP is a partnership between the City of Columbus Development Authority, Columbus State University (CSU) and The Flournoy Companies. CSU is hopeful a teaching facility will be constructed within the BTP once demand is proven.
